City Recycling & Trash Pickup
South of 25th Street: Trash – Wednesday, Recycling – Friday
North of 25th Street: Trash – Tuesday, Recycling – Thursday
Trash bins must be covered, although they must not have lids attached by rope or chain.
Recycling is single-stream, meaning that all recyclables go in one container. See the Baltimore City Recycling FAQ with questions about which materials are accepted.
City-subsidized recycling bins are available for all residents, and can be purchased from selected locations throughout the city. 25 gallon bins are $12 and 18 gallon bins are $5.
Bulk Trash Pickup
Bulk items are furniture, appliances and up to 4 tires with the rims removed. Every month, residents can place up to three items out for collection. One day per month is set aside for this collection. Visit the city’s 311 website to make a request.
311: One Call to City Hall
Report illegal dumping, street lights that have gone out, abandoned vehicles, and other city nuisances. Call “311” on the telephone, or go online to make a report. Make a report at the city’s 311 website. 311 apps are available for smartphones, allowing residents to attach photos with their requests/complaints.
